About Tribes
Tribes: Men’s work at GracePointe Church.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
Proverbs 27:17
Our Mission Statement:
We believe that every man is on a journey with God. Every man has a story to tell and every story needs to be acknowledged and honored. Tribes exists to encourage men to share their story and grow in faith through relationships, service and study. Tribes places great attention on developing organic relationships in and among the men of GracePointe Church.
Men’s Retreats
Through Tribes, GracePointe consistently provides annual retreats; a time for men to spend time together, consider the sacred and find solitude. Typically, the retreats are held in the late fall over a two day weekend. They provide large groups, small gatherings, sports, reflection and worship.
Past speakers have included recording artist John Fischer, author of Confessions Of A Caffeinated Christian and national speaker Gordon Dalbey, using his book Healing The Masculine Soul as a retreat resource. Each year our goal is to offer a time set aside to consider our journey with Christ, our relationships and service to those around us.
Gatherings
Tribes offers men the opportunity to build community through many different activities. GracePointe provides men the ability to connect with other guys with common interests. Through golf outings, breakfasts, white water rafting, bonfire nights, motorcycles and community service men tap into the common threads that bind us together.
Service
Through its relationship with Men Of Acts, men are offered the gift of service. Embracing Christ’s calling to be doers of the word, Tribes serves both our local faith community as well as the community of Franklin at large. Offering home repairs, maintenance and care to those unable to do for themselves, Men Of Acts provides a practical way to live out the gospel.
